Find deep water easily from your dinghy. This unique pocket-sized depth sounder is very accurate and of very high quality. It is useful for boating, fishing, scuba diving, coastal survey, and scientific work.
Reads to the nearest tenth in feet or meters, through a solid hull, inflatable bottom, or black ice. This is an extremely accurate unit when used properly.
Simply put the head in the water, or against the solid hull of a boat. (Sonar will not read through air.)

Models are available with or without an external transducer.
Using the SM-5A (model with transducer) improves accuracy at a distance and will be necessary whenever the SM-5 depthsounder alone can not reach the water. With the transducer at the end of a 12-foot wire, the unit can be used from boats, mounted inside or outside of the hull, or on a pole or boathook. The transducer fitting is waterproof, however, it is not for underwater use and cannot be submerged.

The WL705 Ultrasonic Water Level Sensor uses the latest ultrasonic distance measuring technology for accurate non-contact water level monitoring. GLOBAL WATER WL-16 WATER LEVEL LOGGER

The WL16 Water Level Logger, is a datalogger and submersible pressure transducer combination designed for remote monitoring and recording of water level or pressure data. The water level logger can record over 81, 000 readings and has four unique recording options, fast ( 10 samples per second) , programmable interval ( 1 second to multiple years) , logarithmic, and exception. Multiple depth ranges are available from 3 to 500 feet of water level change. A 25 ft vented cable is standard on all water level loggers, and optional cable lengths are available from the factory up to 500' .


The WL16, Water Level Logger, is housed in a weather-resistant cylindrical enclosure, which slips inside a standard 2-inch PVC pipe. The Water Level Recorders are easily adapted with standard hardware for wellhead mounting, stream, or other installations. Two internal 9 VDC Alkaline batteries will typically power each of the Water Level Loggers for approximately one year even if one of the batteries fails. A third onboard lithium battery ensures your data is safe in the event both 9V batteries fail. All Water Level Loggers include Windows and PDA software, allowing easy upload of data a laptop, desktop or PDA for transfer to spreadsheet programs. 


NOTE:  The Palm operating system is NOT supported. The WL16, Water Level Logger' s vented submersible pressure transducer is fully encapsulated with marinegrade epoxy. The electronics are encapsulated so that moisture can never leak in through O-ring seals or work its way into the vent tube and cause drift or sensor failure, as is the case with many other vented sensors. The vent tube is sealed directly to the wet-wet sensing element, and any moisture that may enter the vent tube from the housing will only contact the ceramic parts, not the electronics. Most federal agencies, universities, and environmental consultants recommend vented water level sensors for the best monitoring results.   

The vented submersible pressure transducer uses a unique silicon diaphragm to interface between your water and the sensing element. The diaphragm is highly flexible and touches the sensing element, producing a sensor with exceptional linearity and very low hysteresis. A stainless steel micro-screen cap protects the pressure transducer diaphragm. The micro-screen cap has hundreds of openings, making fouling the sensor with silt, mud or sludge virtually impossible.

GLOBAL WATER WL-400 WATER LEVEL LOGGER

Global Water' s WL400 Water Level Sensor provides highly accurate water level measurement for a wide variety of applications, including those in severe environments. The submersible pressure transducers have a dynamic temperature compensation system, enabling high accuracy measurements over a wide temperature range. The water level sensor is easily adapted to all dataloggers, telemetry, monitoring equipment, and displays.
Each of the water level sensors consist of a solid state submersible pressure transducer encapsulated in a stainless steel 13/ 16 inch diameter housing. The water level sensor has a molded waterproof cable and a two-wire 4-20mA output for connection to a monitoring device. A 25 ft cable is standard, and optional cable lengths are available up to 500 ft.

The Water Level Sensor' s
submersible pressure transducer is fully encapsulated with marine-grade epoxy so that moisture can never leak in or work its way down the vent tube to cause drift or level sensor failure. The sensor uses a unique, highly flexible silicon diaphragm to interface between water and the sensing element. This silicon diaphragm protects the water level sensor' s electronics from moisture and provides each sensor with exceptional linearity and very low hysteresis.

Water level ranges of 0-3, 0-15, 0-30, 0-60, 0-120, and 0-250
feet are available. The 0-3 ft low-level range is ideal for measuring shallow flows or small water level changes like those encountered in sewers, storm drains, weirs, and flumes. Global Water' s WL500 Water Level Sounder sets a new precision standard for well water level measurement. The Water Level Sounder meets or exceeds federal specification US GGG-T-106E ( USA) or EEC CLASS II ( Europe) for a guaranteed accuracy of 0.008% . The Water Level Sounder uses a full depth-rated stainless steel and teflon probe that is 5/ 8-inch ( 16 mm) in diameter. 

The water level sounder' s sensor electronics are encapsulated in a water and dust proof housing. The water level sounder' s electronics module can be removed so that the entire reel and tape can be cleaned and decontaminated. The flat spring steel core ensures that the level sounder will hang perfectly straight in large and small diameter wells. This provides unparalleled accuracy when compared to the flat white tapes, where kinks in the tape introduce slight errors, in addition to the displacement of water changing the static level.

The water level sounder uses a shrouded probe with a unique design to prevent bridging and detect the bottom of the well. Bridging is often encountered during pump tests with similar water level sounders. All WL500 Well Level Sounders carry a sensitivity adjustment for different water qualities. This sensitivity control prevents false readings in wells containing very pure water or very conductive water and is ideal for pump and draw down tests. When the water level sounder' s probe assembly makes contact with the surface of the water, a bright LED glows and a beeper sounds on the reel. The water level sounder detects the bottom of the well using a specially engineered tip that causes the sounder' s audio alarm to cease when the bottom of the well is reached.


The well level sounder consists of a strong NTS-certified polyethylene jacketed measuring tape that will accurately read to 0.01 foot or 1 mm. The tape reels are built of resistant polycarbonate ( or, for units with over 400 ft cable, of lighter aluminum) . Our clients almost universally prefer aluminum reels for the improved durability, ease of cranking, and better ergonomics. Most plastic reels have much smaller hubs and that makes cranking much tougher. All load bearing components on the WL500 well level sounders are made of aluminum.


The depth sounder is battery operated, thus there is no danger of shock from an outside power supply. Two conductors make a separate ground connection unnecessary, so the instrument will function equally well in uncased test holes or in uncased wells in rock. Water entering the well from casing leaks or perforations about the water level will not affect the depth gauge' s measurements.

Rugged PVDF Flat Tape

The high quality PVDF flat tape reels smoothly, remains flexible and hangs straight in the well, irrespective of temperature. The flat tape is mounted on a sturdy, well-balanced Solinst reel.

Water Conductivity Measurements
The TLC Meter uses a ‘ smart’ conductivity sensor with platinum electrodes to measure conductivity. The conductivity is displayed on the rotating screen along with the associated temperature measurement. The ‘ smart probe’ displays conductivity that has been standardized to 25° C, i.e. Specific Conductance ( displayed as EC) . The conductance temperature coefficient is 2.0% per ° C.

Water Level & Depth Measurements

When the zero point of the probe enters water, an electric circuit is completed, briefly activating a buzzer and blanking out the screen for about 1 second. The depth to water is then read off the tape. When the TLC Meter is withdrawn from the water, a short buzz gives a warning that the probe is now out of water. 

Water Temperature Measurements
The TLC Meter operates in a range from -15ยบ C to + 50ยบ C ( 23ยบ F to 122ยบ F) . You may choose to have the readings displayed
on the LCD screen in ยบ C or ยบ F. Accuracy is + / - 0.2° C in Celsius, or + / - 0.4° F in Fahrenheit. The ‘ smart’ TLC probe automatically adjusts the measured conductivity values to display as specific conductance standardized to 25ยบ C.

SOLINST Model 101 Water Level Meter

and tanks, Model 101 Water Level Meters are the industry
standard for portable hand operated meters. They are sturdy,
easy to use and read accurately to 1/ 100 ft. or each millimeter.


The Model 101 P7

Water Level Meter features a pressure-proof probe rated to
500 psi and laser marked PVDF tape. The Model 101 P2 Water
Level Meter features an easy-to-repair probe and heat embossed
polyethylene tape.


Operating Principles

Model 101 Water Level Meters use corrosion proof stainless
steel probes attached to permanently marked flat tape, fitted
on a well-balanced reel. They are powered by a standard 9 volt
battery.


The probes incorporate an insulating gap between electrodes.
When contact is made with water, the circuit is completed,
activating a loud buzzer and a light. The water level is then
determined by taking a reading directly from the tape at the top
of the well casing or borehole.
A sensitivity control allows the buzzer to be turned off while in
cascading water, and ensures a clear signal in both high and low
conductivity conditions.

Reels
With a stand-alone design, convenient carrying handle, and
sturdy probe holder, the standard reels are ergonomically
designed for ease of use. They are robust and smooth running.
The battery is housed in a convenient drawer in the front of the
reel, allowing quick replacement.


P7 Probe

The P7 Probe is submersible up to 1000 ft. ( 300 m) , ideal
for measuring total well depth. The sensor at the tip of the
probe provides consistent measurements with almost zero
displacement.

PVDF Laser Marked Tape
The Model 101 P7 Water Level Meter uses extremely durable,
PVDF flat tape, traceable to NIST and EU measurement
standards. Each tape conductor contains 13 strands of stainless
steel, and 6 strands of copper-coated steel, making the tape
non-stretch and high in tensile strength and electrical efficiency.

Zero Measurement Point
The P2 Probe is shielded in design to reduce or eliminate false
readings in cascading water. The probe consists of a stainless
steel body with a neoprene heat shrink seal. It is not suitable for
submergence to any significant depth. Its simple design makes
it easy to repair.

Polyethylene Tape
The Model 101 P2 Water Level Meter uses high quality
polyethylene tape that reels smoothly, remains flexible and hangs
straight in the well. Heat embossed marking each millimeter or
1/ 100 ft. allow accurate readings. The 3/ 8 " ( 10 mm) wide tapes
come in lengths up to 1000 ft. ( 300 m) .
